Stila's Smudgepot's (holiday collection)

I love Stila's Smudgepots. They are an awesome eyeliner and eyeshadow in one. This holiday collection includes
Black (intense black) . Starry Night (bold blue with shimmer) . Violet (pretty purple with shimmer). and Kitten (nude champagne shimmer) . These work very well and stay without smearing. I always use an eyeshadow primer even if I'm only applying eyeshadow because it keeps the oils from your eyelid under control. A great simple look consists of kitten as the all over eyeshadow, and the black or starry night as a top and bottom liner. It makes it look sort of pin-up girl if you wing the liner.

The Holiday Collection contains 4 MINI Smudgepots and a MINI eyeliner brush.

This product is available at www.stilacosmetics.com $32 for 0.07oz x4

Sephora's Shimmer Pot (copper)

I LOVE this product. I use it everyday. It is great as a highlight under the eyebrows, or even as an all over eyeshadow when you are going for a natural glowing look. I suggest if you are going for the natural look, just use mascara and this shimmer as a shadow. It adds just the right amount of shimmer to your lids. Do not forget to use a primer first! Creased eyeshadow is so not hot!

This product is available at Sephora $8 for 0.027oz

Sephora Single Eyeshadow (stephane)

I purchased Sephora's Single Eyeshadow a few weeks ago and it's not doing anything for me. I tried to wear it as an all over eye color and I noticed you have to apply quite a bit for the pigment to stay a deep color. I blended a layer on my lid and the color just looked faded. If you want to keep the brightness, I suggest dipping your brush in water and applying a thick layer of shadow with very little blending. On the up side, the shadow itself is a shimmer and there are silver glitter flakes mixed in. It is also paraben free.

This product is available at Sephora $12 for 0.07oz Stephane (#38)

*Paraben is a preservative used in cosmetics and pharmaceutical industries. Paraben is mainly used for their bacteriacidal and paracidal properties. If you have paraben allergies, it causes rosacea and contact dermatitis.

NYX Cosmetics Single Eyeshadow (black)

This single eyeshadow is awesome! I use it for eyeliner and eyeshadow. For lining the eyes, I use a small brush and just dab it into the shadow. Tap your brush before applying so you get all the loose shadow off the brush. This prevents the shadow from falling when you apply it. Then just line your lower lash line. For a darker look, you can dip your brush in water then dab it into the shadow. It applies very smooth. When wet, it is amazing as a top eyeliner. I also use this shadow to smoke out my eyes. This black has a slight shimmer to it but when you apply it, the shimmer is hardly noticeable. This single eyeshadow will last you forever!

p.s. This product is hypo-allergenic and cruelty free!

This product is available at www.nyxcosmetics.com
$5 for 0.1oz.
Black (ES01)

Too Faced Shadow Insurance

Before applying eyeshadow, make sure you follow the steps to applying a full face of makeup.
1) Wash your hands
2) Wash your face
3) Apply moisturizer
4) Apply primers
    * Apply face primer and then eye shadow primer.

I have used Shadow Insurance Eyeshadow Primer by Too Faced for some time now. I really like this product mainly because you only need to apply the size of a raindrop and it covers your whole lid. Now, if you plan on lining your lower lash line, I recommend applying a tiny, tiny bit of this primer to that area. That way, you wont get a weird crease under your eye from your shadow or liner.

It is silicon based and your eyeshadows will turn into a brighter, deeper, more colorful upgraded version of themselves on your lids. It blocks the oils from your skin so your eyeshadows won't melt, crease or fade throughout the day. I am guilty of falling asleep with my makeup on, and my eyes look almost identical to the night before (despite my eyes watering during the night and crustifying my mascara)

This product is available at Sephora $17 for 0.35oz

*This little tube will last you quite some time! I bought my first tube around December '08 and I still have a good amount left. I chose to buy a new one last month just in case I ran out and couldn't get to the store. This product truly makes a difference!

Chose to try it out?
Smashbox Foundation Primer

Before applying a full face of makeup:
1) Wash your hands
2) Wash your face
3) Apply a moisturizer
4) Apply a primer

My Favorite foundation primer of all time is Photo Finish Foundation Primer by Smashbox. After applying this primer, your foundation will go on suuuuper smooth and you will actually end up using less foundation because the primer smooths out your face so you won't need to apply larger amounts of foundation in those problem areas. Your foundation will also feel lighter because it's not directly on your skin. The primer layer illiminates the oils on your face that make you feel like your face is melting after a long day.

To Use: Apply evenly all over face with fingertips after your moisturizer. (a little goes a loooooooong way) Then apply concealer/foundation.

This product is available at Sephora $36 for 1fl oz.

I know it seems a little pricey, but it is well worth it and will last you forever!

*It is also availabe in "light" for sensitive skin (oily/acne prone)

If you choose to purchase this primer, let me know how you like it! I will be posting your thoughts after every product review.
